We have all faced so many challenges & changes this year but, instead of canceling this event entirely...We are getting creative to continue sharing this amazing tradition of our tree lighting ceremony we have held every year the Sunday after Thanksgiving!
Things will be a bit different for this event as they have been for all of 2020.
Instead of gathering together in this tight space, we will hold a wonderful virtual tree lighting countdown in the comfort of your own home! You will be able to stream the live car parade that we will share with you all!

We will light the tree at 4:30 then proceed to share our community's lit up car parade anyone can be apart of!
CAR PARADE:
Start your engines! Decorate your vehicle! Let the people decide who will be the winner!
We will have a $50 gift card for the winner of the most lit-up, most jolly, merriest of all... CAR, TRUCK or ATV!
Begin from Park Place Middle or Frank Wagner School (staging area) through Downtown Monroe Main Street. We will be live Please slow down by Travelers Park (Grocery Outlet) so we can take pictures for the people to vote! Then you exit onto Hwy 2 by Millennium Motors. We have to abide by all traffic laws so, try to stick to your group!
Car Parade begins at 4:30 PM Sharp the Sunday after Thanksgiving! Many Monroe & Surrounding areas will be watching, and we want to bring them something fun to spread the cheer this holiday season as we simply cannot gather together under Phase 2 or 3. So, let's come together and bring some amazing cheer to our town!

We ask for a $5 donation to register or 5 cans of food for our Food Bank, so we can guarantee you will be in the parade!
Your donation helps the Monroe Chamber of Commerce put on many events throughout Monroe like the beloved Monroe Fair Days Parade, Music in the Park, Monroe Farmers Market, Downtown Sidewalk Sales, Halloween trick-or-treat, Small Business Saturday, Light up Monroe and Charlie the Chamber Elf giveaways.
